Laramie Dennis is a director and writer for film, theater, and new media. She attended Wesleyan University as an undergrad, and got her start in New York developing and directing plays, most notably at Jim Simpson and Sigourney Weaver's Flea Theater, where she was a resident director, and at the multi-Obie Award-winning Soho Rep, where she co-founded and chaired, for six seasons, the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab. Laramie then moved to Los Angeles, where she earned an MFA in Film and Television Production from USC. Her short films have screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Short Film Corner at Cannes, and have been presented and distributed by Boyish, Shorts International, and Sprint. Her latest project, a feature film in development entitled "Life on sMars," recently earned her a spot at the fourth annual THROUGH HER LENS: The Tribeca Chanel Women's Filmmaker Program.
