Born in Poland, graduated France, since 2004 Aleksandra has been living and working in London as an independent Writer/Director. In 2012 directed and co-wrote low budget feature film 'Dolls Can’t Cry', staring award winning actress Lara Belmont, which premiered in London and was subsequently screened at independent cinemas in UK, Poland and at international film festivals. Her short films have been screened at more than 70 film festivals worldwide and received 20 awards. Most recent film 'Last Day of Summer' won Young Artist Academy Awards in Los Angeles for Best Performance (also known as 'kiddies Oscars') as well as Afrodite Award for Best International Short in Rome. In 2019 she received Golden Owl award in category Film, which is given to Polish artists living abroad.
Aleksandra is currently developing her second feature film, UK-Polish co-production which received development support from Polish Film Institute and has been shortlisted for Sundance Script Lab in 2017.
She also has a background as a Visual Effects Artist. In 2011 together with the team, she received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction for her visual effects work on 'First Life with David Attenborough' and has been further nominated for an Emmy in 2016 and 2017.
